Bruntwood’s marketing head to leave

SIMON Scott, the head of marketing and communications at Bruntwood, is leaving the company to pursue a new life in Canada.

Mr Scott joined the property group in 1997 as marketing manager, and was appointed head of marketing and communications following his management of the company’s sponsorship of the Commonwealth Games in 2002.

He said: “I’ve been visiting Canada for years and my wife and I think it will be a great place to bring up our daughters. The air is fresh, the mountains are spectacular, and in the winter we can ski every weekend.”

He added: “Bruntwood has been like a family to me and Manchester my adopted home.”

Chris Oglesby, Bruntwood’s chief executive, said: “Since joining us 12 years ago, he has brought passion and commitment to everything he’s done and has been a true asset to the company. Bruntwood is a family business and Simon has very much been part of our family. He’s played a key role in our executive team and a far broader role in the cities.”
