Funding puts the spark into electrical firm

A FAMILY run electrical contracting firm is putting the spark into its grow plans with the recruitment of new staff and a strategic partnership agreement.

Preston-based Cronshaw Electrical is on target to boost turnover by 25% following its tie-up with Manchester-based building services company, Thermatic.

Operations director Paul Cronshaw said the group has worked with Thermatic over the last 20 years and the partnership agreement will increase Cronshaw’s order book and enable it to provide clients with a full building services package including electrical, heating, mechanical, air conditioning and facilities provision.

Paul Cronshaw, operations director, said: “Five years ago we set ourselves a target to increase annual turnover annually by 15% to 25%. It’s been hard work but with dedication from every member of our team we have achieved that.

“We are quietly confident that we will continue to grow even in the current economic climate, with a healthy order book going into the new financial year and our partnership with Thermatic, the prospects for the future development of the company are extremely positive.”

Cronshaw is being backed by Yorkshire Bank’s financial solutions centre in Preston which has provided asset finance for the acquisition of a new fleet of vans and private banking facilities, including pensions, for the company’s directors.

Chris Wardle, a business banking partner at Yorkshire Bank’s Financial Solutions Centre in Preston, added: “Yorkshire Bank has worked with Cronshaw Electrical for more than two years and got to understand how it works.

“Since then we have helped structure the business, and provided the finance and support they’ve needed and hopefully we will continue to play a part in the next phase of its development.”
