Business schools swap places in top 100

THE North West’s top business schools have swapped places in worldwide rankings compiled by the Financial Times.
Manchester Business School (MBS) has risen to 29th place, up from 40th last year, while Lancaster University Management School fell from 24th to 41st.
London Business School headed the top 100 list for a second year, followed by Wharton at the University of Pennsylvania and Harvard. Cambridge was in 26th place, with Oxford in 27th.
Manchester’s rise reflects the 111% pay increase graduates can achieve three years after completing the programme, according to the FT. Lancaster’s graduates will enjoy a 95% rise.
Professor Michael Luger, MBS dean, said: “We’re immensely proud of our alumni who have achieved such outstanding career success since leaving us. In a harsh economic climate investing in your career progression by taking one of the world’s toughest MBAs is a crucial decision and return on investment is key.”
