New jet gives Easyjet more routes

EASYJET has started flying to three new destinations from Liverpool John Lennon Airport (JLA) after adding a ninth jet to its fleet based at the airport.

The new £20m Airbus A320 started services to Dubrovnik, Croatia; Naples, Italy; and Bordeaux, France this week.

Easyjet said it was the first time scheduled services have operated to these destinations from Liverpool. The airline now operates 21 services from JLA.

Easyjet’s commercial manager Carly Brear said: “Liverpool continues to be our busiest UK base outside of London, and the launch of the new aircraft shows just how much support we have from our customers here.

“We’ve listened to customer feedback and are confident our three newest routes will be a huge success, continuing to expand the choice for our customers in the North of England.”

Peel Airports, which owns JLA, said Easyjet had been “crucial” to the success of the airport over the last 12 years.
