Addleshaw Goddard launches TS team

LAW firm Addleshaw Goddard has launched a new team aimed at streamlining its approach to the routine tasks at the core of much of the work it does for clients.
The 18-strong Transaction Services Team has been piloted in Manchester since November and is thought to be the only operation of its kind running in any major UK law firm.
Addleshaw Goddard has developed standard approaches to tasks such as e-disclosure, due-diligence and document management and review which are now separated out and delivered through the TST.
Paul Devitt, Addleshaw Goddard managing partner, said: “Clients are enthusiastic about exploring more imaginative ways of working that deliver greater value for their legal spend. By approaching routine assignments differently, through better development and deployment of individual skills, we are making more efficient use of our resource, without compromising on quality.
“Clients benefit from work that is consistently delivered by the right people at the right level as well as more quality time with our lawyers and partners.”
The TST is led by Mike Potter, head of corporate services, while overall responsibility for the team is held by Andrew Chamberlain, a member of the firm’s governance board and head of employment.
Mr Chamberlain said: “It is an exciting alternative to the conventional delivery of standardised processes as well as the new wave of legal process outsourcing. Clients like the reassurance that we are still delivering the work and attracted by the operational efficiency of our approach. It is also appealing to current and future lawyers who are freed-up to deliver on higher-value work.”
