R3, the trade body for insolvency practitioners, has a new regional figurehead.

Jeremy Oddie, who is head of corporate recovery and insolvency at accountants Mitchell Charlesworth in Manchester, has been appointed as regional chair. He replaces Grant Thornton’s Matt Dunham who has stepped down after two years but will continue to play a role on the North West committee.

Meanwhile Richard Wolff, partner and head of  corporate recovery and insolvency at Manchester law firm JMW Solicitors has taken on the new position of vice-chair.

Mr Oddie said: “I would like to thank Matt Dunham for his hard work in promoting the profession over the past two years. We will continue to build on his achievements and to raise awareness of insolvency issues and the solutions available.

“The work of R3 members has never been more relevant than it is today. As insolvency practitioners, they deal directly with the fall-out from the economic crisis.

“During the downturn our members have saved thousands of businesses and jobs and helped numerous individuals in financial distress. With debt problems still working their way through the system, they will continue to play an important role in the run-up to recovery.”
