Ribble Valley expands into Yorkshire

A LANCASHIRE leisure business is expanding into the White Rose county with a £350,000 investment.
Ribble Valley Inns, is creating nearly 30 jobs in the refurbishment of The Bull at Broughton, near Skipton.
RVI founded four years ago by TV chef Nigel Haworth and Craig Bancroft – who own the Michelin-starred Northcote restaurant and hotel in the Ribble Valley – already has three dining pubs in the North West – Three Fishes at Mitton and the Clog & Billycock at Pleasington in Lancashire and the Highwayman near Kirkby Lonsdale, Cumbria.
Mr Haworth, who has appeared on BBC2’s Great British Menu series for the last two years, and has a reputation for championing local produce, says he is excited about the Yorkshire launch later this month.
“So many of the North’s most talented producers are only a stone’s throw from Broughton Hall and I’m already talking to as many producers as I can. The location was manna from heaven too, and an opportunity for Ribble Valley Inns to work in Yorkshire.”
Operations manager Andy Morris, who is overseeing the refurbishment of The Bull said: “We are excited about The Bull, it’s a great location. We have a plan to grow the business, and we’ll consolidate with the four sites for the next 12 months and then begin to look around.”
As well as the pubs and hotel Northcote also provides the catering at Blackburn Rovers Football Club.
The expansion was funded by Barclays Commercial Bank in Manchester. Lancashire law firm Forbes advised RVI.
