Handelsbanken moves into Deva Centre
SWEDISH bank Handelsbanken has taken 2,000 sq ft of offices at Benmore Group's Deva Centre on Trinity Way.

SWEDISH bank Handelsbanken has taken 2,000 sq ft of offices at Benmore Group’s Deva Centre on Trinity Way.

The bank’s space is within a self-contained unit on a 10-year lease at the Deva Centre, which is based on the site of the former Threlfall’s brewery site. It has since been refurbished into a series of self-contained office buildings ranging in size from 750 sq ft to 20,000 sq ft.

The new office will be known as Handelsbanken Trinity Way and will serve the north of the city including  Salford, Bury, Middleton, Rochdale and part of the Oldham borough. The bank’s existing central Manchester office at Sunlight House on Quay Street will be branded as Handlelsbanken Spinningfields. It will continue to serve the city centre market and parts of south Manchester.

The bank will initially have five staff based at Trinity Way, and the branch will be headed by Simon Raine.

He said that Handelsbanken had grown from having just five UK branches ten years ago to almost 100, including recent openings in Stockport and Bolton.

“We’re growing, we’re well-capitalised and we’re continuing to lend money,” he said.

The landlord was advised on the letting by CBRE North West.
