New homes for Miles Platting and Everton

HOUSEBUILDER Lovell is to start work on 53 new homes in east Manchester.

The £7.3m development in Miles Platting has been supported by a £1m investment from the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA).

Lovell will sell 22 of the homes in Sandal Street on the open market while the other 31 will be managed by the Adactus Housing Association. It plans to rent 11 and make 20 available for part-buy, part-rent shared ownership.

Deborah McLaughlin, executive director North West at the HCA, said: “Working closely with Manchester Council and Lovell, I am pleased that we have been able to help bring these important new affordable homes forward, which I am sure will prove popular with local people.”
