de Poel banks on Santander

CHESHIRE-based de Poel Holdings, the has switched its banking facilities to Santander as part of a new relationship with the bank to enable further growth.
The Knutsford-based firm, which rurns over more than £200m a year and employs around 70 staff, arranges the hiring of agency workers for major companies such as Sainsbury’s, The Co-Operative, Carlsberg and British Sugar.
The business, which operates as de Poel Consulting, de Poel Managed Services and Leopard Software Solutions, designs and uses its own unique electronic timesheet and invoice processing system (e-tips®) to standardise rates for clients and produce just one electronic invoice per week, cutting out hours of administration and saving clients around 10% a year on labour costs.
Chief executive Matthew Sanders said: “Santander really took the time to get to know our businesses and understand our financing requirements.
“Moving our day-to-day banking was easy and efficient. This new banking partnership will enable us to focus on our ambition to grow our business and extend our client base.
“In the past two years the number of hours worked by temporary workers in the private sector has risen by 35%t and our new arrangement with Santander will give us the flexibility and resource we need to ensure we are able to continue to meet this upturn in demand.”

De Poel, which previously banked with Barclays, provides more than 60 clients with around 35,000 temporary workers a week from a panel of 1,600 agencies.
