Appointments: Natwest recruits healthcare head; KPMG brings in financial consultant; and more

NATWEST commercial banking has appointed Andy Hazley as head of its specialist healthcare team in the North of England.

Hazley will manage a team of relationship managers who provide funding for care home and domicilary care provers, doctors’ surgeries, pharmacies, private hospitals and other healthcare businesses.

The team looks after firms within the sector that have a turnover of between £500,000 and £25m. In the North West, the healthcare team has people at offices including Manchester, Liverpool and Preston.

“Throughout the North there are many excellent healthcare businesses and the sector as a whole remains strong,” he said. “I am delighted to lead an experienced team of relationship managers who exclusively look after businesses in this sector.”

Ian Cotterill has joined the financial services arm of KPMG’s Northern Performance & Technology practice as an associate director.

Cotterill, who will be based in KPMG’s Manchester office, has left rival firm PwC to concentrate on growing KPMG’s market share across the North offering consultancy services to financial firms.

Cotterill said: “In common with other sectors, financial businesses in this region are now evaluating and planning investment in IT on a scale we’ve not seen for a number of years.

“It is therefore crucial that they address the issues of interdependency between the performance of business functions and the technology. I’m keen to help clients to avoid pitfalls and capture real business benefits from their developing technology strategies.”

Property consultancy Savills has promoted Hazel Butler of its UK investment team in Manchester to director. The firm has also promoted three members of its property management team – Caroline Sullivan to associate director, and Megan Brady and Robert Hall to associate.

The head of the firm’s Manchester office, Howard Morgan, said:  “Each of these individuals has demonstrated continued hard work within their departments and these promotions are very well deserved.

“Caroline, Megan and Robert actually started at Savills as graduates so it is great to see them progress within the company.”

Barclays Wealth has has appointed Mark Shay to the new role of business development mananger for the North of England.

Shay joined Barclays Wealth from Metro Bank, where he was part of the bank’s launch team in 2010. He has also previously worked for Citigold Wealth Management in London.

Alan Edwards, Barclays Wealth’s regional centre head in Manchester said: “We are delighted to welcome Mark on board as Business Development Manager for the North. The creation of this new role underlines our dedication to building our presence in the North.”
