Rentruck plots expansion with loan

ROCHDALE rental firm Rentruck is pushing ahead with expansion plans after securing a commercial mortgage for new premises.

The business, founded in 1924 as J R Ashworth & Sons, plans to build a new sales office and workshop after lining up a £500,000 loan with Barclays.

Co-owner Richard Cotton said: “We want to create a better environment to attract and retain customers and the new sales office and workshop will help us achieve this.”

Rentruck has a fleet of more than 100 vehicles used for short-term hire and long-term lease agreements.

Stewart Murray, a manager at Barclays Business in Manchester, said: “The new sales office will create more opportunities for future growth and the development loan is an important factor in helping them achieve this.”
