Tarleton site up for sale

PROPERTY consultancy  Nolan Redshaw has been appointed by London-based Demick (Shipping) to sell a seven-acre residential site at Tarleton in West Lancashire.

The site had previously contained a large textile mill which has since been cleared. It is in a rural location fronting the Leeds-Liverpool canal, midway between Preston and Southport.

Demick bought it in 2003 and subsequently gained planning permissions for 70 new homes to be built on the site, alongside 37,135 sq ft of commercial space, which was to include a mix of office and industrial starter units. It is now looking to sell the land to a housing developer.

Mike Redshaw, director of Nolan Redshaw, said: “This is the first significant piece of residential land to be released in Tarleton since the mid 90’s and due to Tarleton’s reputation as a high value residential area, we have already received interest from a number of the major house builders, prior to the site coming on to the market.

“We expect to see some strong competition for this site.”
