Cheshire East Council at Crewe Business Park

CHESHIRE East Borough Council to become the sole occupier of Emperor Court, part of the 67-acre Crewe Business Park.

The council has taken the newly built 21,700 sq ft, Grade A office scheme on an occupational lease and will move in from October this year.

Arthur Pritchard, assets manager, Cheshire East Council said: “Emperor Court’s excellent location, build quality and BREEAM very good rating, made the scheme an ideal office location for our authority.”

The design of the fit out for the new premises, which are owned by Cheshire-based Pochin Developments, will be adopted across the Council’s other main operational buildings.

Jim Nicholson, director for Pochin Developments, said: “This is fantastic news; there is no better endorsement of the scheme than to announce that Cheshire East is to become sole occupier of Emperor Court. This is testament to the development itself and also to Crewe Business Park’s standing as a thriving business hub.”

Pochin said it is now looking to start phase three of the business park, with a further 40,000 sq ft of office space. The company also has additional land available at the site, which is can accommodate up to 90,000 sq ft of offices, which it plans to develop in the future.

The deal follows more than a decade of development at Crewe Business Park by Pochin, which has also built a Travelodge hotel, a JW Lees Pub, retail units and a 790-bedroom student accommodation for Manchester Metropolitan University.

Lamonts Commercial and Matthews & Goodman are joint agents for the scheme.
