Johnsons to roll-out green brand

NORTH West-based dry cleaning giant Johnson Service Group is to expand its environmentally-friendly brand GreenEarth across its 500-strong chain of shops nationwide.
The listed Runcorn-based company has trialled the new brand in nearly half of its shops and has seen higher sales and positive customer feedback.
The GreenEarth cleaning process uses a silicon-based solvent that is less harmful than traditional dry-cleaning chemicals.
Its technology is patented by a US company in which Johnson has invested.
As part of the rebrand Johnson has painted its shops green, added the GreenEarth name and provided environmental literature for customers.
Earlier this month the company said trading conditions were proving challenging, in its core dry cleaning business as well as in its linen and workwear hire service.
On a more positive note it said group net debt was down to £75.5m from £78.5m in December while its bank facilities stand at £104.5m.
