Regus opens ninth Manchester centre

SERVICED office supplier Regus has opened its ninth business centre in Greater Manchester at the Digital World Centre on Salford Quays, next to Peel Group’s MediaCity:UK development.

The new Salford Quays centre will have state-of-the-art IT equipment, fully serviced offices, meeting rooms, videoconferencing suites and ‘drop in’ business lounges.

Celia Donne, regional director at Regus, said: “We are experiencing our highest ever new business enquiry rate in the Manchester area, and are pleased to unveil our ninth centre in the city.

“It will enable us to accommodate growth in business, driven in part by the strength of entrepreneurial business in Manchester but also the trend for flexible working.

“We are seeing a fundamental change in working practices and attitudes towards offices, with a significant shift away from traditional, fixed premises for nine-to-fivers towards the ‘21st’ century, flexible workspace for virtual and mobile workers.

She said that although some customers take “full-time” office space, three quarters of the companies that set  up will only have a “virtual office” giving them a physical business address in Manchester with associated call and mail handling services and space for hire when required.

Four of Regus’s existing centres are in Manchester City Centre (King St, Fountain St, Oxford St and Spinningfields), three are in south Manchester (Manchester Business Park, Cheadle Royal Business Park and Towers Business Park, Didsbury) and two are in Salford (Digital World Centre and Exchange Quay).
