Barristers move en masse to rival set

A MANCHESTER-based barristers’ chambers has brought in 17 new barristers after a 15-strong team decided to move from a rival set.
18 St John Street Chambers has taken on 15 barristers – including one pupil – from Young street Chambers. Those joining include a former head of Young street Chambers, clinical negligence Christopher Limb.
The other two barristers are Wayne Goldstein, who joins from the commercial and chancery department of Winckley Square barristers in Preston and Laura Thomas from the family department of Bradford-based Broadway House.
18 St John Street’s head of chambers, Peter Birkett QC, said the new members would strengthen 18’s offering within the region and beyond.
He added: “Our family department has a well-deserved and longstanding reputation for delivering outstanding results and service to our clients and this will be strengthened further with our new members.
“For us, increasing the quantity of barristers at Chambers was only an option if we were able to do so without compromising our quality offering. This is certainly the case with our latest appointments.”
The new members of Chambers are: Christopher Limb, Ian Huffer, Alex Stansby, Janice Wills, Paul Manasse, David Mackley, Wayne Goldstein, Sarah Kilvington, Andrea Markham, Lukhvinder Kaur, Soria Kajue, Laura Thomas, Vanessa Lau, Kate Henthorn, Danish Ameen and door tenant Francesca Dowse. Sandra Pope also joins as a pupil.
