Liverpool’s graduates get creative with recruitment site
LIVERPOOL's economic development company Liverpool Vision has launched a new website to help the city's graduates find jobs in the creative sector.

LIVERPOOL’s economic development company Liverpool Vision has launched a new website to help the city’s graduates find jobs in the creative sector.

The on-line recruitment tool, called Creative Opportunities, promises to match talent with job opportunities with the aim of retaining creatives in the city.

All of Liverpool’s higher education institutions are working with businesses on the project.

Professor Bill Chambers, pro vice chancellor at Liverpool Hope University, said: “We want to retain as much of the talent that we guide and nourish in Liverpool to the benefit of our educational reputation and the city’s economy.

“My counterparts and I at the other higher education establishments saw immediately that this was an opportunity that would help continue and reinforce our students’ and graduates’ association with Liverpool, while linking us with a sector that is becoming increasingly important to the future prosperity of the city.”

Simon Rhodes of Smiling Wolf design agency, who designed the Creative Opportunities website, said: “This is an excellent initiative and in time I am sure it will become a frequent port of call for those interested in a career in our sectors, from full time jobs to work experience placements.

“With this initiative we are trying to create the conditions in which innovation and entrepreneurship can thrive and this is a big stepping stone to help realising the ambition of an even more dynamic creative sector for the city region.”

The website can be found at www.creative-opportunities.co.uk.
