Appointments: Preston hotel appoints manager; Addleshaws boosts transaction services team; amd more

LEGACY Hotels & Resorts has appointed Philip Dunn as manager of the Legacy Preston International hotel.

Dunn, 40, has been with the group for three years having previously spent a six-year spell managing The Rutland Hotel. He has also previously been operations manager at The Beauchief Hotel in his home city of Sheffield.

“This is a fantastic opportunity at a really good hotel based in the heart of Preston,” said Dunn.

He will lead a team of 45 staff members at the 75-bedroom hotel.

“There is a really great team in place here, the majority of which have been with the hotel since the opening in 2008 and this demonstrates what a nice environment and atmosphere there is here.

ADDLESHAW Goddard has appointed Mike Potter as manager of its transaction services team.

The firm said that its Manchester-based transaction services team, which is staffed by non-lawyers who support fee earners on projects, has seen an eight-fold increase in staff numbers to 40 since it was set up in November, and has supported assignments across its corporate, contentious & commercial, finance & projects and real estate divisions.

Karen McWilliam, business development manager at Yorkshire BankYORKSHIRE Bank has recruited Karen McWilliam as business development partner at its Blackburn and Bolton Financial Solutions Centre.

McWilliams, who has more than 30 years of banking experience, has joined from Lloyds TSB.

She said: “I have worked in the North West for a number of years so understand the diverse business community in the region.”

NEIL Holland has rejoined Subway master franchisee Made to Order as director of acquisitions and estates.

Holland, who had previously been at the firm for a five-yeas spell between 200-2007, rejoins from Hilton Worldwide where he spent the last there years working in mainland Europe as a senior project manager.

PERSONAL injury law firm Jefferies has has appointed two new solicitors – Alison Evans and Katy Marsden.

Marsden qualified as a solicitor in 2002 and is a personal injury specialist whose previous firms include Berrymans Lace Mawer and Branton Bridge.

Evans qualified as a solicitor in 2004 and specialises in Road Traffic Accident claims, accidents at work, public liability and criminal injury compensation claims.  Her previous firms include Brown Dunne & Gray and Branton Bridge.

The appointments take the staff count at Altrincham-based Jefferies to 55.
