Bennett Verby opens Manchester office

STOCKPORT-based accountancy firm Bennett Verby has signalled its intention to make acquisitions after opening an office in Manchester city centre.
The firm’s managing partner, Bernard Verby, said that the practice’s decision to open an office at King St was a result of recent growth in revenues at its corporate division.
“The opening of Bennett Verby’s Manchester office is an important step towards realising our expansion goals,” said Mr Verby. “The new office in Kings Street, will be the first of many changes for the company in 2011.
“We are planning further growth, a re-brand, developing key service divisions and an increase in marketing activity.”
He added that the firm would also look at acquiring other practices by the end of the year.
“Our last financial year has been excellent,” said Mr Verby. Its year-end concluded yesterday, with the firm achieving a turover of £5m, he said.
“In order to succeed we recognised that we had to acknowledge the changing face of the SME market, which makes up our core client base.
“We have had to develop along side the changes, work harder and smarter ensuring we understand the key issues affecting our clients and that we have appropriate and effective answers for them.
The practice will retain its main office at Stockport, where it has been based for 40 years.
