Optare wins £1.7m bus deal

BUSMAKER Optare has won a contract worth £1.7m to supply Nottingham City Council with eight of its Solo Electric buses, which will be delivered by the end of the year.
The Solo EV is Britain’s first and, currently, its only full-size, viable, battery-powered bus. The purchase was supported by funding from the Government’s Green Bus fund.
Jim Sumner CEO of Blackburn-based Optare, said: “This is excellent news for Optare and further endorsement of its investment in Green Bus technology.”
