Villafont secures £3.8m for first care home

PROPERTY developer Villafont has secured more than £3m funding for its first venture into care homes.
Villafont, which has perviously focused on the residential property sector, has teamed up wirh Welsh care homes operator Southern Care Group for the 63-bed facility in Urmston Greater Manchester.
The £3.85m deal has been funded by the Royal Bank of Scotland’s healthcare team based in Manchester.
Work on the Stretford Road site is due to start at the end of August and expected to last for 12 months.
Once open the home will create 75 new jobs and feature en-suite bedrooms, an onsite brasserie, several day lounges and landscaped gardens.
A new company called New Care Projects LLP, has been established between Alrtincham-based Villafont and Southern Care Home to build and run the facility.
Villafont, which was established in 2000, is planning to build a further two new homes in the Trafford area.
Abergele-based Southern Care Group was formed by its managing director Dylan Southern in 2001, and operates 14 homes across North Wales and the North of England.
Chris McGoff, managing director of Villafont, said: “There is a strong demand for specialist residential care across Greater Manchester and our aim is to provide residents with a high standard of care in a homely environment, where they can relax in smaller, familiar surroundings whilst receiving the necessary support.
“This is a purpose built project and each room will have excellent facilities.”
