Boss Direct acquires rival
A BOLTON-based printer and office stationery and print supply business has acquired one of rivals.
Boss Direct, founded by Tim Guest 18 years ago, has bought JM Roberts Print, also based in Bolton, after securing a £450,000 finance package from Yorkshire Bank.
The deal has seen Boss Direct increase its staff numbers by around a third to 34. The family-run company has a £3m turnover.
Mr Guest said: “We are delighted with the finance package from Yorkshire Bank which has allowed us to increase our market share and acquire one of our competitors.
“We are working with a lot of SMEs and larger organisations in the North West and our recent success has allowed us to grow further.”
Sean Molloy, business partner at Yorkshire Bank’s Bolton Financial Solutions Centre, said: “Boss Direct has joined Yorkshire Bank as a new customer and we are pleased that this finance package helps them invest for growth. The business has a large network of customers and has performed strongly through the difficult economic conditions, a sure sign that it has a positive future.”
