Profits leap at Mechan Controls

SAFETY switch and machinery guards firm Mechan Controls has seen full-year profits leap by 20%.

The Plus-listed Skelmersdale-based company said pre-tax profits jumped to £506,000 in the year to December 31 on sales of £2.8m, up 11%.

“We are still expanding organically and geographically,” said chairman Wilf Boardman.

“Further acquisitions currently being sought, which would repeat another quantum leap in earnings. However, with or without an acquisition, we expect to achieve double digit earnings growth in the current year.

“Needless to say, the directors are delighted with the results in the current business climate.”
