PZ chiefs share £800,000 in bonuses

BOSSES at PZ Cussons, the North West personal care to washing-up liquids maker, shared bonuses of more than £800,000 after a strong performance in the group’s 125th year.

The listed company, which recently opened a £26m research and manufacturing facility in Salford, defied the recession with a 27% rise in turnover to £838.1m and a 16% hike in profits to £88m.

Top earner during the year was chief executive Alex Kanellis, whose pay packet, including bonus and pension contribution rose from £526.603 to £724,930. Mr Kanellis’ bonus was £220,700.

Deputy chairman Graham Calder, who moved to a part time status last December  received a £196,627 bonus, but saw his package fall from £620,897 to £529,491, the company’s annual report reveals.
Mr Calder has also amassed a pension pot of £4.9m in the year to May.

Commercial director Chris Davies earned a bonus of £138,700 as his total package rose from £335,674 to £464,490.

Brandon Leigh, finance director earned £439,401, up from £317,847 on the back of a bonus of £135,800, and supply chain director John Pantelireis received £408,643 including a £124,500 bonus.

The annual report reveals that the company, currently headquartered in Stockport, is on track to move to its new HQ at the Manchester Business Park near Manchester Airport  next Spring.
