Appointments: Holidaybreak, Yorkshire Bank, ANS & Cheadle Glass

NORTHWICH-based education and activity travel group Holidaybreak has appointed Ludger Heuberg as a non-executive director. He will chair the audit committee and be a member of the remuneration committee.
 
Ludger is currently group chief financial officer at German metals and ceramics group HC Starck and is also a member of the advisory board of Commerzbank AG. Previously he spent six years with Thomas Cook Group including, from June 2007 to June 2008, as group chief financial officer.
 
Holidaybreak’s chairman John Coleman said: “I am delighted to welcome someone of Ludger’s calibre to the board. He brings with him extensive experience in international businesses. His insight into continental Europe will be invaluable as we progress the expansion of our education division following the recent acquisition of the 50% stake in the German-based school tour accommodation group, Meininger.”

CLYDESDALE & Yorkshire Bank Corporate & Structured Finance has appointed lawyer Ben Clare to provide dedicated legal support to its Corporate & Structured Finance division (CSF) throughout the UK.

Clare, who will be based in Manchester, joins from law firm Addleshaw Goddard where he was worked in the banking team.

He has more than 10 years’ experience in banking law. He started his career at City firm Stephenson Harwood and spent time working in its Hong Kong office and on secondment to Royal Bank of Scotland, before moving to Manchester six years ago to join Addleshaw Goddard.

In his new role he will advise the CSF division on deals such as corporate refinancings, acquisition finance and property finance transactions, and will also work on longer-term strategic initiatives.

ANS Group, the Manchester-based technology infrastructure specialist, has appointed Howard Johnson as its new professional services director.
 
Johnson joined ANS from the board of Alpha Business Computers in November 2010 following ANS’ acquisition of the business.
 
In his new role he will be responsible for the professional services department at ANS, which includes the consultants and the project management team. Richard Gascoigne will take the role of managed services director and will continue with his operational and internal systems responsibilities.

CHEADLE Glass has appointed Karl Minter as the new commercial manager at the Stockport based firm.

Minter joined the company 15 years ago in a sales role for the domestic division of the company. In his new role he will be responsible for supporting the existing commercial customer base, leading a team of surveyors and estimators.

He said: “Prior to joining Cheadle Glass I always worked on the commercial side and I’m delighted to be returning to my roots. These are such exciting times; we have cutting edge products and a reputation for producing superb end results. I’m relishing the prospect of delivering these messages to potential new customers.”

Privately-owned Cheadle Glass was founded 43 years ago and is led by Keith Flowers. The firm designs, manufactures and installs glass.
