Preston estate agents on the move

PRESTON-based estate agency Garside Waddingham is to open two new offices, taking its total to four.

The firm, which also has a commercial estate agency and a surveying arm, is to reopen an office in Longridge after a six-year absence and will also open at Station Road in Bamber Bridge. It currently has one office in Preston city centre and another at Franklands in Longton.

Partner Richard Garside said the move will create five new jobs and illustrates his firm’s confidence in the prospects for property market.

“The market is still challenging with tight lending conditions and a significant number of properties available.”

Despite this, he said that lettings remained busy and that he felt the time was right for the 22 year-old firm to seek growth.

“We think that expanding our network at this time will put us in a strong position to take advantage as the market improves.

“By having a bigger geographic spread we can market properties and bring our surveying services to a much wider area.”

Senior partner John Waddingham will run the Longridge office, located on Berry Lane. Kevin Richardson, partner, will oversee the Bamber Bridge office. Both of the new offices will open early next month.
