Business leader offers recession busting advice

THE head of a fast-growing business is to offer recession busting advice at a Greater Manchester Chamber event this week.
Jim Watson, managing director of data destruction company Shred Easy, will talk about how his business has bucked the recession and increased turnover from £1m to £5m.
He will also offer companies advice about how to buck the recession, continue to recruit and sign up new deals.
Before entering the shredding market in 1998, Mr Watson specialised in turnarounds, fixing and divesting businesses in news media, engineering and plastics. He then joined a shredding company and became responsible for national business expansion, before setting up Shred Easy with business partner Alan O’Brien in 1999.
Mr Watson said: “I will offer the business community advice from my experience of building up a successful company from scratch. I will field questions and I’m hoping we can get a lively discussion going. Everyone from all stages of their business life is welcome.”
The lunch will take place on Friday September 18 at Lancashire County Cricket Club. For more information email events@business-support-solutions.co.uk
