M&S signs up to Glossop’s Howard Town Mill

THE NEW owners of Glossop’s 140,000 sq ft Howard Town Mill scheme have signed M&S Simply Food as an anchor tenant.

The mixed-use scheme has already secured Travelodge for a 63-bed hotel, pub group JD Wetherspoon and Domino’s Pizza.

Belper-based Peveril Securities, Real Estate Development Partnerships and RED Property Services bought the site from the administrators of Glossop-based B&R Developments in November.

They say they have also sold all 49 one and two-bedroom apartments in the residential part of the scheme.

James Ridings of Salford’s Real Estate Development Partnerships said: “This letting represents a huge leap forward for the scheme in terms of delivering a quality retail line up and also reinforcing and improving the retail profile of Glossop. We are very pleased with the key anchor lettings we have secured for the scheme and will now move on to completing the retail line up.”

Construction is due to re-start next month with completion sheducled for April 2012.
