Hollands Pies boss departs

ED Hyslop, the managing director responsible for Baxendale-based Hollands Pies, has left the company.

Hyslop was drafted into Hollands Pies last year following the departure of the company’s previous boss, Neil-Court Johnson, who left the company after being accused of attempting a management buy-out bid without its permission.

Hyslop is one of a number of senior figures to have departed from Northern Foods following the takeover of its new owner, Ranjit Boparan.

A spokeswoman for Leeds-based Northern Foods confirmed Hyslop’s departure today. She said that he had initially been brought in to the business as a consultant and was subsequently offered the role of managing director of its pies and pastries division, of which Hollands was part.

She added that a subsequent restructure prior to the recent buyout had seen the number of divisional heads from six to two, with Hyslop subsequently reporting reporting to the head of the company’s brands division, Graham Hunter.

Following Hyslop’s departure, day-to-day control for Holland’s will fall under Hunter’s remit.

Other senior figures to announce their departures from Northern Foods this week include directors Jon Silk and Simon Herlick – the latter was group finance director and acting chief executive until the recent takeover by Ranjit Boparan completed.
