Bongo Man lends a hand to charity

MASSEUSE to the stars, Bongo Man, has left the the beaches of Barbados behind him to bring a little sunshine to the North West.

Bongo Man, who has worked on the beach at the Caribbean island’s most exclusive resort – Sandy Lane – for 17 years, is a guest of entrepreneur and Ford Campbell founder, Tony Ford.

Tony, who like top model Cindy Crawford and retail tycoon Sir Philip Green is a satisfied customer, decided to fly Bongo Man to Manchester for three weeks to help raise money for charity and offer his service to people in the North West.

During his stay, Bongo Man will visit local hospices including St Ann’s Hospice where he will meet with staff and day-care patients and learn more about the specialist massage the hospice provides.

He will also be putting his services up for auction at a number of events to help raise money for charity, including the annual St Ann’s Hospice Ladies Fashion Lunch on October 2, and the North West Entrepreneur of the Year Awards on October 8.

The Rolling Stones are also big fans of Bongo Man, and Ronnie Wood even painted his portrait which was later auctioned off at the Sandy Lane, with motor racing tycoon Eddie Jordan securing the winning bid.

Tony Ford said: “Having had a massage from Bongo Man I know how relaxing it is. He’s also a great character and will help brighten up people’s lives.

“Ford Campbell is committed to the North West community and we are delighted to be able to help raise vital cash for a number of extremely worthwhile charities.”

While in the North West, Bongo Man will also be offering his services – for a small charitable donation – to company executives, lawyers, accountants, venture capitalists and bankers  in an attempt to de-stress and reinvigorate the North West corporate market.”
