Rose Marley to run the Sharp Project

A MANAGEMENT company run by social entrepreneur Rose Marley has been appointed to run the Sharp Project, the east Manchester media facility.

Rose Marley Management will handle the day-to-day running of the old Sharp Electronics warehouse off Oldham Road on an interim basis.

It is home to around 30 companies specialising in digital content production, digital media and production for TV and film.

Sue Woodward, a director of the project who has overseen its development, has no plans to lessen her involvement. Rose Marley said her team would handle the daily management of the site while Ms Woodward would focus on “selling the Sharp Project globally across the world”.

She added: “We have been based at The Sharp Project since August and have experienced it transform from a warehouse into a unique digital production complex. This is an exciting stage as we move towards completion and open the third and final stage to tenants and really start to build a knowledge based, commercial network that delivers for the local, and national digital, economy.”

Ms Marley is currently based at the facility with another venture she founded called MOTIV, which works with schools to improve attendance.

Development and Construction Solutions (DCS) has also been appointed as property and facilities management agent.
