TV duo target online opportunity

BROADCAST journalists Mike Bradley and Vanessa Williams have switched on to a new venture with the launch of their own TV production company.
The pair, who lost their jobs as a result of cost cutting at Channel M – the Guardian Media Group’s Manchester-based digital TV station, have set up Brilliamstv.
Knutsford-based Brilliamstv is aimed at the corporate, sporting and travel sectors, particularly targeting organisations wishing to add video content to their websites.
It has already established one revenue stream – www.vipboxing.tv – a paid-for online boxing magazine launched with Manchester boxing promoter Steve Wood.
Ms Williams, a former editor of ITV’s digital channel Breeze, and more recently producer of the breakfast show on Channel M, said: “We’ve invested our redundancy money in buying an editing suite and we’re now looking for commissions.
“We have the skills and appetite to offer companies a cost-effective solution as they look to showcase themselves online.”
Mr Bradley, formerly Channel M’s sports editor, and before that a print journalist at Greater Manchester Weekly Newspapers added: “We’re really excited about Brilliams – we have more than 20 years’ experience in our respective sectors.”
As well as the boxing channel, the duo have established an online video travel magazine called www.travelclicktv.com, which features an unique 3D video wall to host short films to promote travel destinations, hotels, excursions and airlines.
They have already completed one commission – producing a news-style medical advice bulletin for holiday website www.holidayextras.co.uk where travellers were advised on swine flu by a doctor.
