THE managing director of one half of the AIM-listed engineering company Robotic Technology Systems has stepped down.

David Bradford, who heads RTS’s Flexible Systems division, will leave the business at the end of the month. In a brief stock market statement the company said he planned to pursue other interests.

RTS, based in Salford, has two divisions – flexible systems and RTS Life Science led by Gary Walsh who has taken on Mr Bradford’s responsibilites with immediate effect.

In a statement the company said: “We would like to thank David for his contribution to the RTS Group over the last ten years, and notably his work to develop RTS Flexible Systems.”

In the summer RTS, which provides software and equipment to help businesses automate repetitive or hazardous tasks, was the subject of bid talks but its suitor, Industrial Acquisition Vehicle, pulled out after failing to agree a price with RTS’s board.

In the six months to June 30 RTS’s turnover was £5.5m, against £4.6m in the first half of 2008, while pre-tax losses fell to £100,000 from £1.8m.
