Real Good Food set to beat full-year targets

REAL Good Food Company, the North West food ingredients group, expects to “significantly” exceed market forecasts this year.
In a statement released ahead of the Liverpool-based group’s annual general meeting, chairman Pieter Totte said Real Good had enjoyed strong sales in the first five months of the year.
He expects to consolidate this performance with brand launches and the continued benefits of a plant reorganisation at the Haydens business.
The company owns Napier Brown, which it claims is the largest independent non-refining distributor of sugar in Europe. It also supplies bakery ingredients through its Renshaw business, and manufactures patisserie and desserts through its Haydens Bakery.
In October it spun out dairy ingredients business Garretts from Napier Brown and it is now a standalone division.
Mr Totte said all parts of the business were trading well and it had overcome sugar supply shortages by finding new sources.
He said: “Based on our trading performance during the first five months of the current financial period, and my confidence that we can sustain this progress through our international sourcing skills in the sugar market, the forthcoming brand launches, and the benefits of plant reorganisation work at Haydens, I believe that the group is on course to significantly exceed current market forecasts for the year.”
