Character World beds down with the Gruffalo

CHARACTER World, the licensed textile producer has won a deal to produce a range for the best-selling children’s book The Gruffalo.

The Cheadle firm has signed a deal with The Licensing Company on behalf of Magic Light Pictures and has already designed a duvet set which will be on sale from this autumn.

Danny Schweiger, joint managing director at Character World said: “The Gruffalo is a favourite of the under fives all over the world and is fast becoming a modern day classic. There’s well established Gruffalo branded merchandise on the market and it’s a proven strong seller at retail level.

“The book features fantastic illustrations by Axel Scheffler and our design team has been working hard to produce the best possible designs to reflect the charm of his artwork. It’s a great license to have in our portfolio”

Character World also has licenses for the Very Hungry Caterpillar, Winnie the Pooh and Thomas the Tank Engine.
