Flower importer to bloom in new home

A LANCASHIRE small business which imports and distributes fresh flowers has branched out into new premises.

Hallmark Flowers has moved from a rented 6,000sq ft building on Burscough Industrial Estate to its own 13,000sq ft property there.

It has £480,000 on the new building after securing funding from NatWest commercial banking.

Founded in 2000, Hallmark specialises in the import and distribution of fresh flowers to the wholesale sector in the UK and Ireland.

It sources from growers worldwide, and the new premises, with a significantly increased temperature controlled area, will ensure the flowers are kept in the optimum condition to remain fresh.

Managing director John Sloan, said: “The space limitations at the previous premises had started to constrain the business and this could have hindered our operations had we remained there.

“Securing larger premises on the same trading estate is the ideal solution. The additional space ensures that we now have the capacity to grow our business.”

NatWest commercial banking in St Helens. led by relationship manager Julie Thistlethwaite provided funding for the purchase.
