Holiday Inn for MediaCity
A 218-bed Holiday Inn Hotel is to open at MediaCityUK next year.
Peel Leisure, a sister company to developers Peel Media, has signed a franchise deal with Holiday Inn owner InterContinental Hotels.
Due to open next autumn the hotel will be equipped with a bar, restaurant, and meeting rooms, as well as a gym.
The landmark MediaCity development in Salford will be the home to 2,500 BBC staff from 2011.
Bryan Gray, chairman of Peel Media said: “We’re creating a true city environment here at Salford Quays, and the Holiday Inn will be an important part of the wider MediaCityUK community.”
“With the first residents due to move into their new MediaCityUK apartments in the spring, this latest announcement shows how the development of the city is really gathering momentum.”
