A RETAIL site in Liverpool’s Lord Street has been sold at auction for £2.1m.

Numbers 59-61 Lord Street, which houses mobile phone shop T-Mobile, was sold through the commercial real estate firm Jones Lang LaSalle.

The 1,000 sq m space has retail accommodation on the ground floor, a pub in the basement and accommodation on the first, second and third floors.

Richard Auterac, auctioneer at Jones Lang LaSalle, said the sale attracted, “the strongest buyer demand we’ve seen in two years”.

He said: “This attractive end of terrace period building is located in the heart of Liverpool city centre achieved a fantastic result. It was an impressive investment opportunity, offering a superb space in a popular location with a good tenant.

“With a surge in demand for superior properties like this, coupled with a shortage in supply, prices in the auction room have now started a rapid recovery process and the era of picking up bargains at the prime end of the market may well be over.”
