Lettings hat-trick for Bruntwood and Chester shopping centre

PROPERTY company Bruntwood has secured three new lettings across its Liverpool portfolio.

Shepherd Construction, Tower Enterprise Funding and Black Stripe Marketing have signed leases to move into new city centre premises.

Investment company Tower Enterprise Funding has signed a ten-year lease on a 2,100 sq ft suite in Bruntwood’s flagship building, The Plaza on Old Hall Street.

Shepherd Construction has taken 2,800 sq ft of space in the Cotton Exchange on Bixteth Street, while Black Stripe Marketing will occupy a 545 sq ft office in Queens Building on Castle Street in a three-year lease.

Colin Forshaw, head of sales at Bruntwood, said: “The varied nature of these lettings is testament to the breath and quality of our portfolio.

“Businesses are increasingly looking for flexible terms and the strength of our Liverpool properties is in the ability to offer lettings from 150 to over 100,000 sq ft, short term contracts and serviced accommodation across a number of locations.” Bruntwood owns nine major office buildings in Liverpool city centre.

Meanwhile, the Grosvenor Shopping Centre in Chester has also notched up  a hat-trick of lettings. The new tenants are women’s clothing store Dash, independent retailer, Oxford Bags and North West-based G.C Footwear.

The lettings cap a good three six months for the centre, despite tough conditions on the high street. Recent additions to Grosvenor include award-winning furniture store Listers and fashion chain Hugo Boss.

Julie Webb, general manager at The Grosvenor Shopping Centre, said: “The new shop openings are very positive news for retailing in Chester. It shows that the centre is definitely fighting back against the recession, with retailers seeing the many benefits the city has to offer as a great tourist and shopping destination.”

Anthea Baker, general manager of Dash added:”We used to have a shop in Chester city centre and are glad to be back retailing in the city. Business has been booming so far and we’ve had very good feedback from customers.”
