Appointments: Shake-up at Real Good Food, and more…

THERE has been a boardroom shake-up at the Real Good Food Company following a reorganisation at the business, a supplier and manufacturer of bakery ingredients.

Pat Ridgwell, currently non-executive deputy chairman, will be joining Pieter Totté as joint chairman of Real Good Food, with immediate effect. Pieter Totté will also take on the role of executive chairman of Renshawnapier, the group’s principal operating business.

As a consequence, Stephen Heslop, chief executive, will be leaving the business.

In January Real Good Food’s head office was moved from London to Liverpool and its two largest businesses were consolidated to form Renshawnapier.

THE chief executive at shampoo to washing power manufacturer has resigned.

Miles Roberts said he is leaving to take a senior role at the packaging group DS Smith. McBride, which has its European headquarters in Greater Manchester, said it was looking for a successor but did not expect to make an appointment until next year.

KPMG has appointed of Stuart Burdass as head of audit in its Manchester office.

Mr Burdass joined KPMG in 1987 and became a partner in 2000. Since joining the firm he has spent time working in a number of the firm’s offices around the world including Melbourne, Leeds and in the US.

His clients include high profile North West businesses such as JD Sports, LateRooms, Great Bear Distribution and Expotel.

He said: “I am delighted and extremely proud to be leading a team which is currently number one in the local marketplace in terms of market share. Audit is an essential and integral part of our business, and we are fortunate to have a team of exceptionally talented people here in Manchester.”

Preston-based development and construction specialist, the Marcus Worthington Group, has appointed former Ask Life director Duncan Bowman to head up its residential property arm, Hollinwood Homes.
 
Mr Bowman is charged with delivering three schemes already planned in the Preston area from 2010 and identifying new development opportunities for the business. He will be working closely with public sector bodies with a view to building on the company’s existing commitment to affordable housing as part of its wider portfolio.
 
The company’s current land holdings include the capacity to introduce over 450 new family homes, the majority of which have full planning consent.
 
Mr Bowman said: “Our immediate focus is to deliver homes on the current land holdings we retain, but we are also actively seeking new business opportunities. The Marcus Worthington Group has an extremely impressive track record and continued profit delivery, even in the current economic climate, provided by its construction and development work across all sectors. “
