Gym Screen bought by US firm

A STOCKPORT company that produces bespoke TV channels for health clubs across the country has been bought by a US rival.

Gym Screen Media, based in Heaton Mersey, has been acquired by Zoom Media Corp, whose subsidiary ClubCom International already provides TV channels for marketing to and entertaining gym members across the UK.

Gym Screen broadcasts in more than 160 venues across the country and clients include David Lloyd, Virgin Active, DW Sports Fitness and Total Fitness.

The acquisition is Zoom’s fourth in just over a year in the digital fitness space and expands its network of fitness facilities to more than 650 across the UK.

Dennis Roche, president of Zoom Media, said: “Amalgamating the Gym TV network with our own will allow us to offer critical mass of the gym audience for advertisers seeking to reach fitness members across the UK market.”
