Booth Commercial completes million pound project
BOLTON-based Booth Commercial has completed work on a £1m contract to supply and install hinged steel fire doors for the UK’s first low energy data centre.
The company, part of Booth Industries, built the doors for the £92m scheme, which is being built for Electronic Data Systems, owned by Hewlett Packard.
Once complete it will create a 300,000 sq ft, state of the art data facility at Wynward, Stockton-on-Tees.
Booth Commercial was awarded a contract by Interior Service Group to supply and install 60 minute and 120 minute coated and stainless steel fire doors with electrical locking and monitoring systems.
Barry Gregson, product manager of Booth Commercial, said: “This is the largest contract we have won to date for Booth Commercial and it’s been great to work with ISG, one of the most professional contractors we have ever worked for. We supplied a new UK compliant product for the project which we’ve spent 18 months developing and testing with Teckentrup GmbH, our strategic manufacturing partner in Germany.”
