Venetian theme as LateRooms rocks the Monastery

MANCHESTER’s historic Gorton Monastery was transformed into a Venetian palace last night as 300 people attended a 10th birthday party for LateRooms.com.

Entertainment was provided by a blues band, and by pop impressario and guest DJ Pete Waterman.
Founded in Salford 10 years ago last week with just a handful of staff,

LateRooms is now part of international travel company TUI, and employs around 400 people worldwide, with locations in Spain, Italy, Australia, Singapore and Thailand as well as London and Manchester.

Among the guests were founders Steve, Paul and Tony Walsh, executives from TUI, professional advisers and financiers, contacts from the hotels which use LateRooms and also staff.

Managing director Chris Morris said: “We have seen a lot of changes and growth in the business in the last 10 years, but at the heart of LateRooms is a passionate and entrepreneurial culture.”
