EY awards open for business

ERNST & YOUNG’S annual Entrepreneur of the Year awards have once again opened for nominations.

In 2009, North West entrepreneurs Nick Snelson of Allied Publicity Services; Danny and Mark Schweiger of Character World; and Alan Firth of Meridian Healthcare were all named regional winners.

Simon Allport, Ernst & Young’s North West senior partner, said: “Every year the Entrepreneur Of The Year award gives entrepreneurs the recognition they deserve. Entrepreneurs create many of the world’s most dynamic and successful companies.

“Even in the most challenging times, entrepreneurs are looking for opportunity and continue to proactively take calculated risks to grow. Their vision and flexibility to adapt to the changing environment will drive the recovery and boost confidence throughout the world’s markets.”

The awards program runs regionally, nationally and globally across more than 135 cities in 50 countries. Each year the UK Entrepreneur of the Year joins country winners from around the world in Monte Carlo to vie for the title of World Entrepreneur of the Year.
