Tote bosses land key role with new owner Betfred

THE chief executive and managing director of The Tote have landed key roles with new owner the Betfred Group.
Tote chief executive Trevor Beaumont is the now CEO of the enlarged Warrington-based Betfred, while Joe Scanlon, who was MD of the Wigan bookmaker before the takeover is now director of racing.
Beaumont had been CEO of the Tote since November 2004. Before this he was MD of Coral Eurobet, racing director of the British Horseracing Board, and MD of the betting and gaming division of UKbetting PLC.
He said: ““After over six years at the Tote I am pleased my association will continue once the sale process is completed. I am excited about working on the integration of the two companies and I am convinced the enlarged group will be good for Racing and for employment opportunities.”
Fred Done, chairman of Betfred, said: “I am delighted Trevor has accepted my invitation to become Betfred CEO. His deep knowledge of the Tote makes him the ideal person to lead the integration of Betfred and the Tote and to help us realise the great potential we have from bringing the two businesses together.”
