Appointments: Deloitte’s Fraser wins national role; Ener-g appoints manufacturing chief; and more

SHARON Fraser, a Manchester-based audit partner with business advisers Deloitte, has been promoted to a key national role with the firm.
Formerly in charge of audit across the UK regions, she has now become managing partner, regional markets, with responsibility for services across its 17 UK offices outside London.
Her new role gives her a place at the top-table of decision-making alongside new Deloitte chief executive, David Sproul.
She was first woman to be promoted to the firm’s UK executive in 2006 and for the last four years, she has been a member of the firm’s global board.
In the North West, she is best known for her audit work and advises the likes of Holidaybreak, JJB Sports and N Brown Group.
Fraser joined Deloitte in 1986, after graduating from Oxford with a degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics. She became a partner in 1998.
She said she is ‘truly delighted’ at her new role.
“Central to our agenda will be revenue generation and the associated investment required, alongside continuing to build long-term relationships with clients and developing our talent pipeline. But we are equally focused on enhancing our industry and segment capabilities across the regions, in part via the development of regional centres of excellence, such as those we have in the North West with our Sports Business Group and financial services and local and regional government practices.
“The market remains challenging for professional services firms, but I look forward to working with each of the regional teams to develop our business across the UK and to defend our position as the first choice of the most successful and ambitious clients and talent.”
Patrick Loftus, practice senior partner for Deloitte in the North West, said: “The fact that Sharon has been selected for such a pivotal role in Deloitte’s new leadership team is testament to the value that she has added to the firm throughout her career.
“Her broad base of advisory experience, time spent in industry, and oversight of the firm’s global operations mean that she is well positioned to assist in developing Deloitte’s business across the UK regions.
“As she takes up her new role, we are delighted that Sharon will continue to be based in the North West and to advise clients with whom she has longstanding working relationships.”
