Law firm’s green agenda
LAW firm George Davies is embracing the green agenda.
The Manchester practice, which is set to move to a new city centre location next year, has been looking at ways to cut its carbon footprint.
The firm has set up a ‘green committee’ and implemented a number of new policies, ranging from a more efficient printing system to replacing bottled water chillers with a mains-fed filter system and printing its news letters on recycled paper.
It has also introduced better recycling facilities for plastic bottles and other waste.
Managing partner Mark Hovell said: “We have a number of clients in environment-focused sectors such as waste management and the issue is very much in mind with the new office move.
“Like all businesses we’re looking to be more efficient and we hope that by doing this we can address the green agenda too.”
The recently held it’s first ‘Green Day’ which saw a staff travelling to work on a ‘walking bus’ from South Manchester and also encouraged not to boil the kettle for hot drinks to save electricity.
