Grants for Indian trade mission

UK Trade and Investment is seeking ambitious North West companies to join a trade mission to Mumbai and Delhi
UKTI, which is the Government department responsible for helping UK firms to expand overseas, is offering eligible businesses a grant to meet more than half the £1,400 cost of the trip.
India is the UK’s 18th largest export market and its second largest export market in the developing world after China.
Barbara Singleton of UKTI said: “India offers many partnering possibilities for companies, universities and colleges. Business is based on personal relationships, so you need to visit the country to meet people, form relationships and appreciate how fast India is developing.
“The Indian middle class is 300 million strong. This represents a single English-speaking market comparable in size to the population of all of the UK’s EU trading partners combined.
“It is forecast that India may become the fifth largest consumer market in the world by 2025.”
The visit to Mumbai and Delhi will take place between from February 15 to 21. The total cost, subject to flight availability, is about £1,400.
