TEG selected for Scottish waste contract

A SUBSIDIARY of the organic composting firm TEG has been named as the preferred bidder to process food and garden waste for a Scottish council.

Preston-based TEG Environmental has been selected by Perth and Kinross council for the three-year contract which has the potential of a two-year extension.

The job is worth between £470,000 and £1m a year, depending on the quantity of waste.

TEG’s chief executive Mick Fishwick said: “We are delighted to have been awarded the business by Perth and Kinross Council. The mixed waste contract will underpin our operation at Glenfarg and we are pleased to be working closely with the council to provide this valuable composting service.”

The contract will start in March 2010 and the waste will be processed at TEG’s composting facility in Glenfarg, Perthshire. TEG converts organic waste into organic fertiliser.
